Weekend, etc...

Have had a pretty crazy and stressful week…work related stuff…all a big fuzzy nightmare! This country is really winding me up right now and I would love to pack up and head to the South of France but hey, that’s not going to happen any time soon, so just have to keep the old chin up and try to stay positive!

I did have a lovely weekend however, very busy indeed…we were out with friends for yummilicious Indian food on Friday night, invited to dinner on Saturday night and then cooked dinner for my mother-in-law’s birthday on Sunday evening. Phew…

I’m really tired…actually, I haven’t really slept in about 3 months…any suggestions for getting rid of my insomnia? I go through phases and thankfully the last phase was about a year ago but it’s back with a vengeance and it makes me feel overallawful!

Anyway, moving on...here’s some Toast loveliness from the A/W 09 home collection…would love to be wrapped up and surrounded in all that cosiness!

Such wonderful, cozy, homey goodies! I'd love to have those sheets, the flatware, and those gorgeous pillows! Fall makes me want to nest more than any other season.

Sorry it has been such a stressful time. I go through bouts of insomnia, too. For me, reading and chamomile tea are my constant late-night companions during those times. Hope your latest bout ends soon!!

Delicious treats, Martina! Must say I love all those toasty wooly socks and those ivory-handled pieces of cutlery. It's the cosy season now... But sorry you've been having a difficult stressful time and not sleeping. Yoga offers great exercise but also is very calming, which could help with your sleep patterns. I have chronic fatigue (ME) and yoga helps me a lot to balance my life- yoga's pretty much saved my life! Hope you find some balance soon too. :o) ((HUGS))

Aw, I'm sorry to hear you're not sleeping well. Maybe some relaxation techniques during the day to take your mind off the stresses will help you go to bed with a clear mind. I hope you get a good rest soon!

The Toast catalog is such a temptress! Everything inside the catalog makes me want to snuggle up in a little cottage and watch the world go by.

Wish I had a solution for your lack of zzzz's! Hoping you can sleep quickly and soundly very soon :)

Insomnia is the pits. I have bouts with it about every 6 months. When it gets really bad, I take melatonin, just to help me pass out. Sometimes I feel a little groggy in the morning, but at least I got a little sleep. I hope you get some rest soon!

Oh Martina, your week sounds a real hassle. Boo to work for causing you grief. As for the insomnia that sounds really stressful as it's bad enough coping with work when you feel good, let alone when you're tired... Have you thought about trying some of the Bach flower remedies, they can often be helpful and there are ones specific to sleep. Try this link for more info

I've used the flower remedies myself in the past and find them pretty good. :)

Oh, insomnia is so hard. I think we women really can get hit with this. I've been having it here and there from stress too :( Exercising helps me, a full belly before i go to bed as well (although I don't think this is very healthy - I guess if it's healthier food! ;). And a bath before bed also helps. Of course when you are busier it's harder to fit this stuff in huh. Good luck xx
